Child Services

The Lansing Early Childhood program serves children ages birth-5 (if not eligible for kindergarten) within one of several programs.

Quality Education

All students receive a high quality early childhood program that is developmentally appropriate - meaning appropriate to age and to each individual child.

Monthly Screenings

We offer monthly screenings in the areas of cognition, speech/ language, motor, social, vision, and hearing.

Peer Models

Peer models provide a model for children identified with special needs by demonstrating age-appropriate skills and behaviors within a classroom environment.

No Fee Program

The No-Fee Pre-K program is a preschool opportunity for children ages 4 & 5 years old (not yet eligible for kindergarten) to engage in classroom activities with an emphasis on kindergarten readiness. The program requires an application and eligibility determination.

Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers provides home visits, group connections, developmental screenings, connections to community resources, and playgroups. The program equips parents with knowledge and resources to prepare their children for a stronger start in life and greater success in school.

Infant-Toddlers

The Infant Toddler program evaluates for all areas of development and provides Early Intervention services for infants/toddlers in the home and refers families to community resources for child care and community settings, all at no cost to families living in Leavenworth County.
