Lansing USD469 is expanding our Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program as part of our Strategic Plan goal area of Positive Culture—specifically, our commitment to establishing a “Grow Your Own” program to enhance the pool of candidates.
This year, we successfully piloted the program with five dedicated apprentices, providing classified staff the opportunity to earn their teaching credentials while gaining hands-on experience in our schools.
For the 2025-2026 school year, we are expanding the program and are now accepting internal applications from classified employees who are eager to become educators. Selection is based on criteria such as attendance, drive, initiative, work ethic, and commitment to staying in the district.
By investing in our own staff, we are not only helping them achieve their dreams of becoming teachers but also strengthening our district by developing high-quality educators who already know and love our Lansing students.
