Lansing USD469 is proud to promote health & wellness to our students and staff. In addition to having a Health & Wellness Committee that meets quarterly, Lansing Middle School has a student Health and Wellness Advisory Committee - Kids Version in their Peer Leadership group, led by teacher and coach Jennifer Bishop.

Health Tip
Balanced Diet: A well balanced diet helps maintain or improve overall health. A healthy diet provides the body with essential nutrition it needs to function.
Recipe:
Chunky Monkey Bars
Ingredients:

or any nut butter you prefer
ripe bananas, mashed

of choice
, roughly chopped
Optional:
or chips of choice optional, for vegan option use

Instructions:
Heat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit
Line an 8 x 8-inch pan or baking dish with parchment paper and spray with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix or whisk together the oats, mashed banana, peanut butter, maple syrup and walnuts until fully incorporated.
Transfer the batter in the prepared pan and spread out on an even layer.
Top with chocolate chunks or chips, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
Allow the bars to cool in the pan, before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container and enjoy!
