The Lansing Lions had an incredible showing at the 2025 State Wrestling Tournament, with 16 wrestlers representing the team on the big stage. Their hard work throughout the season paid off, as the team secured a 6th place overall finish—a remarkable achievement for our athletes and coaching staff.

In addition to the strong team performance, six Lansing wrestlers stepped onto the podium as state placers.

Lansing State Placers:

  • Caden Garcia – State Runner-Up (2nd Place) | Now a 2x state placer

  • Sawyer Jorgensen – 4th Place | Now a 2x state placer

  • Riley Dilka – 4th Place | First-time state placer

  • Elijah Mathis – State Runner-Up (2nd Place) | 2x state placer, 2x State Finalist

  • Noah Mathis – State Runner-Up (2nd Place) | Entered the tournament as Lansing’s only undefeated wrestler and set the Lansing season pin record. Now a 2x state placer.

  • Baylee Baragary – 4th Place | Made Lansing history as our first-ever girls' state placer!

This year’s state tournament was an unforgettable experience for our wrestlers, coaches, and the Lansing community.
