Question: How did your education in our school district influence your career or personal growth?
Answer: I was able to connect and learn valuable skills in communicating to help set the stage for what I wanted to pursue as a career path after High School. I was able to still maintain friendships with peers from my graduating class, and other Lansing Alumns to stay connected and engaged after high school, and college. I was able to find and hone in my strengths while in high school, that led to the success that I have currently.
Question: Do you have any fond memories or stories from your time at our school district that you’d like to share?
Answer: I was heavily involved in the Boys Swim Team while during my time in high school, and I can remember many of our home meets that took place in the pool at Lansing. Winning multiple District titles, and competing for state meets in Topeka. Most of my memories come from my senior year of high school, when everyone had the mindset of this is the last year together from late nights watching football games, to homecoming spirit weeks, to prom with my senior class to walking across the stage with my peers that I have known for 15 plus years.
Question: What advice would you give to current students who are preparing for their future?
Answer: I would focus on what is in front of you and let things in the future fall into place. Many of us do not realize how much is uncertain, and completely out of our control but what is important is to stick to your passions and goals and the sky is the limit. Many of our accomplishments are set on paths that you never expect you would take. So, enjoy the moment, as those are the memories that you will reminisce and remember for years to come.
