Lansing USD469 is proud to announce that Mariah Neff has been named the 2024 Secondary Teacher of the Year. Ms. Neff is a Special Education teacher at Lansing High School who has made a significant impact on her students and colleagues. She will be recognized at this year's Lansing Educational Foundation Honors Breakfast on Friday, May 3rd, and will receive a grant for $250 to be used at Lansing High School.
Ms. Neff was nominated for her understanding of the balance between academic success and student relationships.
"Ms. Neff builds opportunities for all students to be successful. Her impact goes well beyond the classroom; she creates school-wide opportunities for students to be involved, supported, and successful. She is also a member of the Building Leadership Team that plans building professional development, student support, and school improvement."
"I count on Mariah for support at the high school - she manages the paras when one is out sick, she is on the Building Leadership Team as the special education representative, and she supports both the students and adults daily. She also provides an outlet for staff to express their frustrations."
We are proud to have Ms. Neff as part of our Lansing USD469 community and grateful for her dedication and hard work.
Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Ms. Neff!
