Lansing USD469 proudly honors Victoria Fevurly, SBS and Recovery Room Coordinator at Lansing Middle School, as a 2025 Educational Support Professional of the Year. Victoria stepped into a vital and challenging role at the start of the school year—and immediately made it her own.
Her colleagues describe her as a calm, thoughtful presence who creates a safe, structured environment for students struggling with emotional regulation and behavioral challenges.
“Mrs. Fevurly was put into the role of coordinating the SBS and Recovery Room… She organized the room and program so it is centered around the true necessities of recovery, cool down, and refocusing.”
Her work with students is rooted in connection and growth.
“When students utilize SBS and Recovery, she allows them space to decompress and calm down… After that, she works skillfully with students to strategically work through the current problem and avoid it in the future.”
Victoria’s impact is deeply personal for many students.
“There haven’t been any students that she can’t build a relationship with, and a high number of students recognize her as their ‘trusted adult’ in the building.”
Though hesitant to step into this role at first, Victoria now embraces it with passion and purpose.
“She will now tell you that she has a high amount of passion for the position and recognizes the impact she has with students.”
Her ability to de-escalate situations, provide consistent support, and help students regain focus makes her a cornerstone of the LMS support team.
Victoria will be celebrated at the upcoming Honors Breakfast hosted by the Lansing Educational Foundation (LEF). In addition to this well-deserved recognition, she will receive a grant to further support her work in the SBS and Recovery Room at Lansing Middle School.
