Lisa Robichaux, LIS Intervention Aide
Question: How long have you worked in Lansing USD469?
Answer: 9 years
Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?
Answer: I've been married for almost 10 years and we have two boys, our oldest is a 5th grader and the youngest just turned two. I have a huge houseplant collection and love gardening. I've been a Lansing kid since first grade!
Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?
Answer: I was a kid that could have benefited from having an intervention teacher and being in small groups. I believe that makes me better at my job, I know how their brains think and I'm able to customize our small groups to fit what each kiddo needs.
Question: When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
Answer: I have a huge yarn and string collection so I can crochet, embroider, and make macrame hangings when I get the urge to be creative. I bowl in a league with my husband and carry a 198 average. I played softball and bowled in high school, but I loved volleyball more and ended up getting to play in college on scholarship.
Question: What is something unusual about you that most people don't know?
Answer: I hate socks and refuse to wear them now that my parents can't make me.
Question: Could you share a particularly heartwarming or memorable experience you've had while working with students or colleagues?
Answer: My dad drives his truck in parades, and I ride with him while my oldest rides his bike alongside. Kids from school scream and wave "MISS LISA, MISS LISA" at us, and he's always amazed at how I acknowledge each kid by name and can tell him about them. It's a very rewarding part of my job! Getting to see kids grow up in the community I did, it's really special to be a part of that!
