We’re happy to share that school will be in session on Friday, February 21! Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we’ve navigated this week’s winter weather.
As a reminder, we have now used all of our allotted snow days for the year. To ensure we meet the required instructional hours without adding an extra day to the calendar, we will be making the following adjustments for the remainder of the year:
Start Time Adjustment:
Each school day will begin one minute earlier than the current schedule. Each building’s bell schedule will be adjusted accordingly.
Late Start Thursday Adjustments:
Late start will now only occur on the following dates:
March 6
April 3
May 8
On all other Thursdays, school will begin at the regular start time.
Please note: School will be held for the early childhood students at the Early Childhood Building on Friday, February 21. This is one of the few Fridays when students are scheduled to attend.
These adjustments were made to balance the need for instructional time with the impact on students and families. By reducing the number of late-start Thursdays, we’re able to add full days of instruction, which provide more consistent and meaningful learning opportunities. Although adding one extra minute to the school day may seem like a small change, it allows us to not only meet but exceed the state's required instructional hours. These modifications were designed to maximize learning time while keeping summer break intact for families.
