This month, we are proud to recognize Ms. Amanda Edwards, a dedicated Special Education teacher at Lansing Middle School. Ms. Edwards was nominated by a parent who spoke to her exceptional impact on students:
"Ms. Edwards is exceptional for the simple reason that she makes all of her students, past and present, feel exceptional. She meets every student where they are and works tirelessly to help them meet their full potential. She recognizes the value of inclusion and is a strong advocate for it. Students look forward to school every day because of the safe and welcoming environment provided in her classroom and the opportunity to successfully participate in the general education setting with supports."
Beyond the classroom, Ms. Edwards also dedicates her time to coaching Special Olympics basketball and bocce ball, ensuring that her students have opportunities to shine as athletes. Her passion, advocacy, and commitment to student success make a lasting impact in our school community.
