Lansing USD 469 is proud to highlight the exceptional achievements of our January Staff Members of the Month. These individuals have gone above and beyond to make a difference in our schools and community. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence exemplify the values we strive to uphold across our district.

Staff Member of the Month: Ms. Stephanie Edwards

Lansing USD 469 is proud to recognize Mrs. Stephanie Edwards as one of our January Staff Members of the Month. Stephanie has served as a long-term substitute in the Structured Learning Center classroom at Lansing High School, where she has made a profound impact on both students and colleagues.

“I have had the privilege of observing Stephanie for the past year in her role as a long-term substitute in the Structured Learning Center classroom at LHS, where she has consistently demonstrated exceptional skills in developing meaningful relationships with her students. Stephanie has a unique ability to connect with her students, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment that encourages learning and personal growth.

It is not uncommon for students from her past to approach her with warm hugs, recalling the positive impact she has had on their lives. Her ability to maintain an organized and inclusive classroom, where all students can access both their special and regular education programming, is truly commendable.

Additionally, she has shown remarkable resilience and dedication when returning to substitute for the SLC classroom with students who have significant learning challenges. She approaches every day with a smile and meets her students where they are, helping them develop the individualized skills they need to achieve their goals.”

Congratulations, Mrs. Stephanie Edwards, and thank you for your dedication to our students and your extraordinary contributions to our district!

Lastly, we are thrilled to recognize Mrs. Holly Kane as our second Staff Member of the Month for January. Mrs. Kane serves in many vital roles at Lansing Elementary School and has a profound impact on students, colleagues, and families.

“Holly works incredibly hard in her many roles at Lansing Elementary School. She serves as our intervention team leader, provides reading and math intervention instruction to students in kindergarten through third grade, is a member of the building leadership team, provides lunchroom support and before- and after-school supervision, and serves as the building representative on our district Multi-Tiered Systems of Support team.
