Construction Student

We are proud to highlight the achievements of our high school students who are making significant strides in their educational journeys through the KCKCC Pioneer Career Center. Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways offer students invaluable hands-on experience and skill development, preparing them for successful futures in various fields.

Lansing High School student Caden Pittman has embraced the opportunities provided by the construction program at KCKCC. Recently, Caden and his classmates showcased their skills by creating handmade cutting boards. This project involved a comprehensive process, from selecting and cutting the wood to crafting a unique design, gluing, clamping, shaping, and finally sanding and oiling the finished products.

The cutting board project exemplifies the hands-on learning and practical skills that our CTE programs emphasize. Students like Caden learn the technical aspects of construction and develop critical problem-solving and teamwork skills that are essential in any career path.
