Name It Claim it Graphic

There are incredible lessons, projects, and opportunities for students throughout Lansing High School. To share these initiatives, Dr. Penrose sends an all-staff email with pictures of an assignment, project, or activity and titles it "Name It, Claim It." The teacher responsible then replies to all staff to briefly explain what the unit is, what they are doing, and any reactions. The email allows teachers to visit other teachers' classrooms virtually and start conversations about student learning, cross-curricular activities, and differentiation.

The October 7, 2024 "Name It, Claim It" features Lorie Ketter's National Spanish Honor Society project to bring awareness to National Hispanic Heritage Month:

"¡Hola a todos!

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated every year in the U.S. from September 15 - October 15 to bring awareness to all the contributions that Hispanics have made and to honor them. In Spanish class, we talked about them and honored them throughout the year, but the National Spanish Honor Society wanted to do more! The NSHS wanted to do an activity and decided on an all-school Scavenger-Hunt Bingo. The posters scattered around the school are biographies of well-known people of Hispanic origin. In order to earn a box on your Bingo card, you need to match the biography in Spanish with the English descriptor on the Bingo card (Each biography is numbered). Bingos are vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. If you need an activity for CCR Family Day today, you can come to my room for Bingo cards!

Winners will get a fast food gift card, which will be drawn on October 16!

There are six days left to participate in the scavenger bingo competition!"
