Tina Grigsby, Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Question: How long have you worked in Lansing USD469?

Answer:  I just started this year

Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?

Answer: I live in Leavenworth with my husband and three kids. We have a senior at Leavenworth High and then a 6th grader and a second grader, both in Lansing.

Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?

Answer: This is my first year here in Lansing. I am really enjoying my co-workers and the close knit family they have at the Early Childhood Center.

Question:  When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?

Answer: I enjoy running, reading and spending time with my family.

Question: What is something unusual about you that most people don't know?

Answer: Well, I actually started my teaching career teaching 8th grade math and I went to school to teach math in the middle school setting. I fell into early childhood by accident and never looked back!

Question: Could you share a particularly heartwarming or memorable experience you've had while working with students or colleagues?

Answer: So far this year, I have had a couple experiences with all of the students. I really enjoy watching them grow and express themselves. They are all doing great and learning new things everyday!

Question: What piece of advice would you like to offer to students to help them succeed and make the most of their educational journey?

Answer: Well, with our students, my goal is to help prepare them for their transition to kindergarten and give them all the tools they need in their journey.
