Last spring, Lansing High School students explored linocut printmaking thanks to the support of the Lansing Educational Foundation. Printmaking allows artists to create many multiples of a single image. Currently, people mostly rely on modern computer-driven technology to copy and print imagery, but for a long period of human history, printmaking was completed by hand with the aid of a printing press. Creating multiples of an image is very useful if a person needs to quickly disseminate information in large quantities for things like advertising, newspapers, and books. The Lansing High School art department would like to thank the LEF and Director Kara Thompson for always supporting the fine arts!
