This series celebrates the achievements and stories of our Lansing USD469 alums. Their accomplishments are a testament to the community and excellent education fostered here in Lansing. By sharing their journey, they'll inspire current students and fellow alums while highlighting our graduates' diverse paths.
Brinton Thrasher, Class of 2004
Question: What is your current job title, and where do you work?
Answer: Stay at home girl dad/unemployed pilot
Question: What is your educational background (Colleges, CTE, trade, etc) after Lansing?
Answer: KU undergrad Film Studies, University of Colorado Global masters Organizational Leadership
Question: What are some career highlights or personal achievements you would like to share?
Answer: 14 years in management after college and quit to learn how to fly airplanes! Starting my career in aviation officially in 2024.
Question: How did your education in our school district influence your career or personal growth?
Answer: By being in an area where I could find good people to surround myself with
Question: Do you have any fond memories or stories from your time at our school district that you’d like to share?
Answer: I remember how we came together when our classmate, Lindsey Reifschneider, was going through cancer treatments and how many of us shared grief when she succumbed to her illness. Taught me a lot about losing someone at an early age.
Question: What advice would you give to current students who are preparing for their future?
Answer: Have fun! Be adventurous but be safe! Cherish this time. Learn as much as you can about mutual respect for others, especially if they are different from you.
