Congratulations Helen Culliney Graphic

Lansing USD469 is pleased to announce that Helen Culliney, our MIS / SPED Records Clerk, has been named one of the 2024 Educational Support Professionals of the Year. Mrs. Culliney will be recognized for her exceptional work at this year's Lansing Educational Foundation Honors Breakfast on May 3rd, where she will receive a grant of $250 to be used at the school.

Ms. Culliney was nominated by several of her peers for her outstanding work and kindness:

"Helen is one of the most dedicated workers that I have had the privilege to work with in my 29 years in Lansing. She takes her job very seriously to ensure that special education records are correct. Helen has a tough job where she has to point out errors to people, which is not always easy to do. She always does her job with kindness and is willing to help. Her knowledge and attention to detail are impeccable! She is one in a million, and Lansing is truly blessed to have her!"

"Helen has served this district for many years and should receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. She works all hours, including weekends, on paperwork that everyone gripes about, but I've never heard her complain. When I ask a question via email, I know it won't be long before there's a response. She is competent, professional, and invaluable. Helen has made four little words the highlight of every SpEd teacher's day in the district, 'All is in order.'"

"Helen is a phone call away when I have a question regarding a student and their IEP services. She also lets me know when a new student enters our district and, in general, just keeps me informed when it comes to knowing where staff are at in the IEP process. I have never heard her raise her voice or make anyone feel any less important, even if we make huge mistakes. She also is very supportive of all."

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Helen Culliney on this well-deserved honor. We are truly grateful for your exceptional work and the positive impact you have on our educational community.
