ACT Information

The ACT is a test to determine your college readiness. If you are planning to attend a university or college, an ACT is required most of the time as part of the application process. You must register in advance.

The website to register is www.actstudent.org.

When registering be prepared. You will need:

  • Approximately 30-45 minutes

  • Computer with internet

  • Credit card or fee waiver

  • High school course details (copy of transcript nearby would help)

  • Headshot photo for uploading

The fee to test is $60.00 (no writing) or $85.00 (with writing). If you will be staying in Kansas for college, the writing portion is not needed for admission purposes, so you do not need to take it. If you plan to attend a college out of state, you should plan to take the writing portion as some colleges do require it. Additional fees can apply, please see ACT website for details.

If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, you may be eligible for a waiver to cover the registration fee.

Visit www.actstudent.org for 2024-2025 dates.
