f you enjoy working with students of all ages, please consider substituting in the Lansing Unified School District. Lansing is always looking to add to their substitute list. To be a substitute teacher, you need to be a certified classroom teacher or a certified substitute teacher in the state of Kansas.
For information on certification please contact the Kansas State Department of Education at www.ksbe.state.ks.us/cert/cert.html.
If you are not currently certified in Kansas you may want to consider an emergency substitute teaching certificate.
To be eligible for an emergency substitute teaching certificate, you must meet one of the following criteria:
1. You must have current teaching certificate from another state, or
2. You must be a recent graduate of a teacher education program, or
3. You must have completed sixty(60) hours of college credit, or
4. You must be a retired teacher.
