Instructional Lesson Plan Contest
Technology Instruction Lesson Plan Program
What Is It?
Lansing USD 469 technology department will sponsor a program that you can win various technology prizes by submitting technology-infused lessons to share with other teachers. This contest is open to USD 469 certified employees only.
5 individual prizes (LCD Monitor, Wireless Mouse, Portable Hard Drive, MP3 player/Flash drive, Digital Camera, software ) awarded by a raffle to 5 individuals who submit one lesson
* Individual Grand Prize (LCD Projector, Laptop, ScanSnap scanner, ) awarded by raffle to 1 individual submitting 5 or more lessons
* Building Prize Projector/Latop/Interwrite system awarded to building that submits the most lessons
How?
In order to qualify for the contest you must submit a quality, original lesson that integrates technology into your classroom. This can be a lesson using existing technology that you have available or they can be lessons that would demonstrate how to use technology that could be acquired. For every lesson submitted, your name will be put into the drawing. If you submit 10 lessons, you will get 10 chances to win individual prizes. Submitted lessons will be shared on the district resource site for the other staff to use.
* Quality lessons are more than just showing a Powerpoint presentation. They offer the students more than they already know. They engage the students and provide timely, constructive feedback. Quality lessons also address the differences in student learning styles. The lesson needs to be driven by instructional objectives and have a direct correlation to State standards. See attached lesson plan document.
When?
Now through the school year 06-07. Each Technology Committee meeting, (there are 4 a year) the group will review lessons submitted and there will be a drawing. Meeting dates are October 4, Nov. 30, Feb. 21, May 1 st . Lessons submitted prior to the meeting will be reviewed.
Why?
To encourage the effective use of technology in the classroom and provide teachers with additional tools and resources to use technology.
